“I met Jenny when we both worked on the tills at Homebase. I worked their for 5 years and it done a lot for my confidence, before then I would go red when talking to anyone. I always loved my shifts with Jenny if not for her secret sweet stash then for her boundless wisdom. Jenny once said ‘I am not an octopus’ and to this day anytime I feel really stressed and like I have too many balls in the air I try to remember that I am not an octopus.”

Jenny Moore works in Homebase at the tills and though she has worked their for many years she still goes out of her way to make new starts feel welcome. Jenny is celebrating 31 years sober this year and is a proud member of AA. Irish Country music is Jenny’s fix, particularly Philomena Begley. When Jenny listens to her music she feels all her worries and stress fade away. Jenny has overcome feelings of self consciousness about the way she looks and dresses by reminding herself to ‘bloom in the pot you are planted in.’
