“Jacqui or Ms Rogan as I knew her was my a level art teacher at Lagan College Integrated Secondary School. I was one of those students who didn't realise school was over until it was, I had no idea what I was going to do after and had never thought about going to uni until Ms Rogan said ‘it is obvious what you'll do. You'll go down to that art college and do the foundation year and if that goes pear shaped then you can come back here and do another A Level.’ I went on to have the best year of my uni life at the Belfast School of Art.”

Jacqui Rogan is an art teacher and head of sixth form at Lagan College Integrated Secondary School. Jacqui’s experiences of growing up in Belfast during the Troubles are the foundations to her belief that things have to change. When she got offered a temporary post at Lagan College she was drawn to the integrated ethos of the school and thought ‘this is where I have to be and where I can make a difference.’ Jacqui loves beaches and feels very at peace walking along in the sand and going into the water. She always remembers her experiences, its part of who she is and it makes her stronger.
